Create a New Thread Overview

Before you create a Thread, it’s imperative that you understand the following:

• What are Threads

• Answer Thread Components

• Structured Thread Components

When you are confident that you have a good understanding of Threads, you are ready to create a new Thread.

1. Click on the top left corner of the screen.

2. Click Settings.

3. Under the Sidekick category, click Threads. The Thread List will appear and default to the Active Threads view.

4. On the top right of the page, click Create Thread.

5. Name the Thread. Click Save.

6. The newly created Thread will open to the Thread Builder where the Thread can be configured.

Threads must follow a particular naming convention when created. Review the Hierarchy Overview before naming new Threads.

Set Thread as Active

By default, newly created Threads are set as inactive and will only appear in the Inactive view within the Thread List until set as active. Before you set a Thread as active be sure that:

• At least one Action has been added to the Thread.

• The Thread is configured as intended and ready to be live.

Once you have built and reviewed the Thread, set it as active using the following steps:

1. Hover over the Thread you want to set as active. Click.

2. Select Set as active.

Set Thread as Inactive

Threads can be easily set as inactive at any time.

1. Hover over the Thread you want to set as inactive. Click.

2. Select Set as inactive.

Be mindful of how Threads may be interconnected before setting as inactive

Consider any Pivot Threads that may be impacted by setting a parent Thread as inactive.

Edit a Thread

Both active and inactive Threads can be edited at any time.

1. Hover over the Thread you want to edit. Click.

2. Select Edit.

3. Edit the Thread according within the Thread Builder. Click Save.

4. Name the Thread revision. Click Save.

Rename a Thread

Both active and inactive Threads can be renamed.

1. Hover over the Thread you want to edit. Click.

2. Select Rename.

3. Rename the Thread. Click Save.

Duplicate a Thread

Both active and inactive Threads can be duplicated.

1. Hover over the Thread you want to edit. Click.

2. Select Duplicate.

3. Give the duplicate Thread a unique name. Click Save.
