Use guidance to link between sections or Guides. Link to sections within the same Guide, or link to other Guides in order to detail the steps Sidekick should take to complete the workflow.
Consider the following examples where guidance is used to point Sidekick towards a specific section within the same Guide:
If the order information does not exist, then go to look up orders with email.
Look up the Customer’s order by email and if there is one order, then track the customer's order.
There may be situations where a set of conditions requires Sidekick to pivot to a workflow authored in separate Guide. Provide guidance that steers Sidekick to the correct workflow by linking to the associated Guide. Consider the following example:
A Customer reaches out about cancelling their recent order.
Sidekick initiates the “Cancel Order” Guide.
Sidekick completes the “Look Up Order” section of the Guide.
Sidekick runs an action that returns the order information.
Sidekick evaluates a rule that states, if an order is no longer in an “Unfulfilled” order status, the order is not eligible for cancellation.
Based on the order data, the Customer’s order is in a “Fulfilled” state and can no longer be cancelled. Sidekick evaluates the rule as true.
The guidance instructs Sidekick to tell the Customer their order can no longer be cancelled, but they can return their order once it has been delivered.
At this point, add the guidance “Go to Order Status and tell the customer when they can expect their order to be delivered.” By highlighting Order Status and linking to that Guide, Sidekick can redirect to an alternate workflow to continue to help the Customer.
