# What causes a ‘uh oh – we can’t connect’ error?

"Uh oh - we can't connect" is an uncommon error in Chat.

This is typically caused by:

- Transient network issues
- Chat authentication fails
- The app freezes
- Disconnection the chat server and unable to reconnect

Clicking **Try Again** to refresh the chat and reconnect should resolve the issue.
