Analysts can edit a report for many reasons. This could be changing the metrics used in the report, updating formulas, changing filters, changing visualizations, or simply moving it to a different dashboard.

> [!WARNING]
> Dashboard edit options are only available if accessed through the report Builder UI
>
> Reports and dashboards can't be edited if accessed directly from the Shared dashboard category on the Reports page. To edit dashboards, you must access the dashboard through a Builder and click the folder icon at the top right corner of the Builder.

## View dashboards in My Folder (personal folder) or Group (shared folder)

#### Group folder (Shared)

Dashboards saved in the Group folder also appear in the Shared category on the Reports page, thus becoming “shared dashboards”. This is how non-analyst users access Dashboard view using a shared Insight Builder dashboard.

#### My Folder (personal)

Dashboards saved in My Folder are only accessible and editable by the analyst who created the report, thus they are “personal dashboards”. See [edit personal dashboard](https://help.gladly.com/docs/view-edit-and-delete-shared-or-personal-dashboards#edit-report-from-a-personal-dashboard) to learn how to access and edit personal dashboards.
