# What cookies does Help Center and Chat use?

In short, a “cookie,” also known as a browser or web cookie, comprises information gathered when you visit a website. The website you visit sends the cookie(s) to your computer, where it's then stored in the web browser. Cookies allow websites to recognize you, your credentials, shopping carts, and more.
