You will need your BigCommerce store hash and an API access token. ### Before you start: what the access token needs **The card and the agent actions depend on the BigCommerce API account’s OAuth scopes. Create a store-level API account in BigCommerce with these scopes before installing the app.** - Customers (read-only): finds the customer by email address. - Orders (modify): reads orders, line items, and shipments, and lets team members cancel orders. - Order Transactions (modify): reads payments and lets team members issue refunds. - Products (read-only): loads product images for line items. Not needed if you hide product images. - Marketing (modify): lets team members create discount codes. If a read scope is missing, the card cannot load. If a modify scope is missing, the card loads but the matching action is refused by BigCommerce with a permissions error. ### Step 1: Create a BigCommerce API account In the BigCommerce control panel, go to **Settings > API > Store-level API accounts** and click Create API account. Choose the V2/V3 API token type, give it a name, and set the OAuth scopes listed under “Before you start.” Save it and copy the access token, since BigCommerce shows it only once. The API path shown on the same screen contains your store hash: `https://api.bigcommerce.com/stores/{store hash}/v3/`. ### Step 2: Open the Apps settings In Gladly, go to **Settings > Apps**. This is where you manage your App Platform integrations. ### Step 3: Create a configuration Click the **Create Configuration** button. When prompted for the **External App**, choose the BigCommerce app (`gladly.com/Big_Commerce_App`), picking the latest version available. ### Step 4: Enter your BigCommerce details Enter the **Store Hash** and the **Access Token** from Step 1. Your store hash also appears in your BigCommerce subdomain (for example, `https://store-{store_hash}.mybigcommerce.com/manage/dashboard`). Optionally change **Orders Limit**, the number of recent orders shown per customer (10 by default, up to 250). ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/7047b671-c4f2-4df0-bb0a-b9b511fd2452/Images/Documentation/app plat bigcomm app setting.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-27T09%3A23%3A57Z&se=2026-10-27T10%3A23%3A57Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=estM%2FzBowaHV0A0hr9JHvtLRZTCgKHfuwelcfuUwok4%3D) ### Step 5: Choose your refund and image settings - **Always refund to store credit:** leave it off to refund customers to their original payment method. Turn it on if your store refunds as store credit; it is also required to refund orders that have no payment record in BigCommerce, such as orders created manually or through the API. - **Hide product images on order line items:** leave it off to show product images on line items. Turn it on to skip images, which saves one BigCommerce request per profile load and removes the need for the Products scope. ![Add App Platform Configuration form for BigCommerce](https://cdn.us.document360.io/7047b671-c4f2-4df0-bb0a-b9b511fd2452/Images/Documentation/bigcommerce-app-platform-config.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-27T09%3A23%3A57Z&se=2026-10-27T10%3A23%3A57Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=estM%2FzBowaHV0A0hr9JHvtLRZTCgKHfuwelcfuUwok4%3D) ### Step 6: Add the BigCommerce card to the Customer Profile Save the configuration, then add the card in Settings > Agent Experience > Customer Profile: hover between two existing cards until the green + appears, select it, choose App Platform Card, then pick your BigCommerce configuration and the BigCommerce card. Full directions: [Organize the Customer Profile](https://help.gladly.com/docs/organize-the-customer-profile). ### Step 7: Add the agent actions Installing the app does not put the four forms (Cancel order, Refund order, Refund items, Create discount code) in the compose menu. Add them in Settings > Agent Experience > Agent Actions, one at a time: give each a Label, choose your BigCommerce configuration under App / Configuration, choose the Action, select Add, then Save the page. The BigCommerce configuration must be saved and active first, since an Agent Action can only reference an active App Configuration.
